Fry Sauce & Grits: About the Sisters

About the Sisters

Hello!  We're sisters Melanie, Courtney, and Caitlin.  We live in two very different places, Utah and Alabama.  Fry Sauce & Grits is a way we describe how the West and South collide and our eclectic interests, style, and passions.  We started this blog to help us learn, be engaged, stay connected, to share our passions in life, and to be creative.  So glad you took time out of your busy day to stop by and hang out.

Melanie

I'm Melanie, this is my handsome husband Andrew, and my sweet puppy Dexter.  I'm an easy-going girl with a mellow attitude and a big heart.  I am a southern transplant for the next few years, and I am enjoying every minute!  (ask me again in August when the humidity is in full saturation)  I'm a confessed makeupaholic, and beauty guru.  Chances are I've read about it, tested it and tried it when it comes to beauty brands and products.  I am so excited to have this as a creative outlet for all my musings on style, beauty, and whatever comes to mind that day!  In December of 2013, our red hair fuzz daughter, Scarlett Cay joined our family and I'm loving being a mommy!

Courtney

Hello! I'm Courtney and I'm a creative, outgoing, eclectic, and energetic person who loves to have a good time!  I love fashion, interior design, DIYing, being domestic, staying fit, and being a homemaker.  I'm my best and worst critic and am very determined.  I have a mad passion for helping and educating women on bras and how they should and shouldn't fit (check out my bra posts here).  I'm an ordinary girl who has a lot of aspirations: to be happy, to live life to the fullest, and to do what I love to do! I feel so lucky to be married to my McKay and have a little daughter who I like to call McKay's "mini me" named Amelia. Oh and I can't forget our "second" child Winston; he's our white Miniature Schnauzer.  I have a secret desire to join a roller derby, start my own successful bra fitting business, write a book, and travel the world.   When  I'm not blogging, being a mommy, and a homemaker, I work for the fabulous Six Sisters' Stuff where I manage their social media for their recipe sharing site My Recipe Magic and their blog conference, Build Your Blog Conference.

Caitlin

Hello, my name is Caitlin and I'm a curious-curly-haired senior studying music at USU.   I'm currently engaged to my other half Sam and planning a 2014 spring wedding.  I lived in Germany as an au pair the summer of 2012, and the romantic side of me likes to think that I left my heart there.  My post college plans include transitioning into real life, and pursuing a Masters in Speech Pathology.  I have a love for classic literature, learning, music, culture, discussion, and of course, timber-frame houses.  Two other things you should know about me:
1. I'm obsessed with fall and pumpkin flavored everything.
2. I usually get crafty around the time of finals.
Coincidence?  I think not.

  1. Thanks so much for stopping by! This blog looks great and inspirational and I can't wait to read some more :) Also want to say kudos to Caitlin for being a speech pathologist. As a mother of an ADHD child this has been a very valuable and necessary resource in our lives.
