Right now I'm all about making simplifying my life when it comes to being to cooking for my family.  Especially with my goal to eating healthy and moving forward with my fitness goals.  Eating healthy can take up a lot of time if you don't plan ahead.  I went onto Williams-Sonoma to check out their amazing kitchen tools would make my life so much easier and what I would want for Mother's Day.  I'm really wanting this Paderno Spiralizer; it would be perfect to make zucchini noodles or for making a fun carrot salad.  This Silicone Baking Liner would be perfect for making my favorite sugar, dairy, and gluten free desserts.  Hopefully one day I'll get what I've always wanted, a Le Creuset Cast-Iron Round Dutch Oven!  I've heard so many great things about them and I've heard they make baking, roasting, and cooking a breeze!

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is next Sunday May 11th!  Okay friends--that means you have one week to pull something together for the woman that carried you in her belly, gave birth to you, and raised you up.  It's not like you owe her anything...

UncommonGoods was gracious enough to send me this beautiful gold Astrology locket.  It was the perfect Mother's Day gift for me because it has my daughter's Sagittarius astrology constellation on the front.  All opinions here are 100% mine and not sponsored by the company!

Baby Animal Days Family Pass Giveaway

Hey, if you live in Utah and want a really fun activity to do with your kids and family, then listen up because I'm really excited that on May 9 & 10 it's the Utah State University's annual Baby Animal Days!  If you haven't heard of this event  it's one of the most fun things your child will experience this year.  I went last year and it was so fun!  We were there for hours!  Every year the Utah State University Extension program along with their Botanical Center come together to put on a weekend full of family friendly festivities your kids will love!  Not only do they have adorable baby animals for your kids to see, pet, and hold, but they have the following:

• Kids activities
• Baby Reptiles
• Come meet baby ducklings, chicks, bunnies, goats, kids, lambs, piglets, calves, baby llamas and miniature horses
• Children's Activities
• Horse Rides
• Sheep Shearing Demos
• Food Vendors
• Miniature Train Rides
• Climbing Wall
• Bouncy Houses

Baby Animal Days is held at the Utah State University Botanical Center located on 875 South 50 West Kaysville, Utah 84037.  Go here to view a map on how to get there.  The event starts May 9th from 2-8 p.m. and on May 10 from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.  For more information about the event go here.

Swig Sugar Cookie and Dirty Diet Coke Birthday Party

Last week was McKay's 31st birthday.  I kind of waited to the last minute to plan something for his birthday, like the day before.  So I didn't have much fun to prepare anything extravagant.  I love to throw get togethers with our friends, but I'm not the type of party planner who has exquisite looking centerpieces, arrangements, and food hutches like you see on Pinterest.  Nope, that's not me.  I try to strive for simplicity because seriously, all that people care about at a party is that there's good company and good food.  Nobody is going to care about the printables, matching colors, and goodie bag.  Last month we traveled to Southern Utah and fell in love with Swig and I thought it would be so fun to throw McKay a Swig themed party full of cold sugar cookies and dirty Coke's!  I texted a bunch of our neighborhood friends letting them know of the birthday party and we hung out in our backyard, ate, drank, the kiddies ran around while the men played basketball and the girls chit chatted.  It was the perfect, non stress, relaxing, and carefree birthday party.  This is a great last minute birthday party idea because it's so easy.
