The Six Worst Christmas Songs of All Time

When it comes to Christmas music, I think that things are black or white.  It's either good, or it's terrible.  I think we all dread hearing certain songs on the radio every Christmas Season.  In an effort to raise awareness, I decided to make a list of the worst Christmas songs ever.  I would like to suggest our culture divorce itself from these terrors.

6. "Hey Santa" - Wilson Phillips

Don't get me wrong, I love Wilson Phillips, but this song is pretty much atrocious.  And that hat?  Really?  I think we could get by without hearing this song ever again.

My 1500 Square Pixels of Fame

Have you ever thought that there is more to life than being really, really, really ridiculously good looking? Cue voice dripping in sarcasm.

Remember this boy?  Well, said boy took me to the sunday morning session of General Conference.  He's a real catch.  Behold, our 1500 square pixels of fame:

General Conference, November 2013, Ensign, LDS, Sam, Caitlin

After our celebrity sighting of Elaine S. Dalton, we too became celebrities. There we were, minding our own business, waiting to get into the conference center when--BAM!--out pops a man with a camera who starts snapping us like we're Lady Gaga. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm used to the paparazzi being all up in my face, but never before have I been featured by such a fine publication as the Ensign. After our photo stalker left we mused about the distant possibility of our photo actually being included in the final issue. When we first saw the photo we were surprised, but then we thought, "No surprises here!" If you need evidence of that just let your eyes wander a little bit to the north (they'll probably do that naturally). This flattering portrait falls on page 100 of the conference issue. It serves as a lovely accent to Elder Kevin S. Hamilton's talk entitled "Continually Holding Fast."

Be sure to "hold fast" by picking up this month's edition of the Ensign.  That way you can feel not only the warmth of the Spirit, but also the warmth of our smiles.

Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!

aint noboby got time for that

Sometimes, as I am perusing the pages of Pinterest, I am inspired.  Sometimes, I am left thinking--REALLY?!  Some people are taking the DIY craze to the next level.  I love a good fun project or craft as much as the next girl, but I just have to rant for a minute here.

Who has time to make their own homemade bite-sized Goldfish crackers?!  Especially at the rate I have seen some toddlers consume them.  I mean, come on now people!  I guess I would just be happy if I could make a homemade healthy dinner every night.  Maybe if I didn't work full time, and freelance, and try to blog, and didn't go to church.  Then my family would have some fresh cheese crackers at all times.  Yes, they would.

Or spend all night doing intricate nail designs that require taping the nails off and letting them dry for hours in between.  And, anyone who knows me, knows I AM A FAN of painting my nails.

And, can someone please explain to me, why making your makeup remover wipes out of paper towels is a good idea?  Especially after reading they can become moldy within days?  Gross!

For these people, I have a few words for you.  Target.  Neutrogena.  $4.99.

With all that being said, who am I to judge if one particularly intricate activity is worth ones time, more then the next?  And, this is coming from the girl that watches The Bachelorette weekly--a guilty pleasure of wasted time.

So, if you have tried any of these, or any other type of DIY project, and want to let me know why it was totally worth your time, I would love to hear about it!

Annnnd, where did that hour go?

Hey Girl Ryan Gosling from FrySauceandGrits.com

A little bit of an embarrassing confession:

I wasted (debatable) an hour of my life watching Ryan Gosling videos...

It started like this: It's morning, my day off. I'm sitting on a barstool eating my oatmeal thinking about all I need to accomplish that day: laundry, gym, grocery shopping, cleaning, post office run, etc. etc.

Then I slide the computer over, and I'm surfing the web, and I see a link for a video of Ryan Gosling in a mormon talent show circa 1991.  I click.  I get sucked in.  You will too.

Then, I continue to click on video after video of Ryan Gosling interviews, Mickey Mouse club songs, movie blurbs.  You name it.

He is in two of my fav movies: The Notebook, and Crazy Stupid Love.

Then, I called Courtney and confessed to her what I'd done.  Felt better after I got it off my chest.

Also, we present to you a compilation of a few of our favorite Ryan Gosling memes.

Any confessions you want to make?  Please tell me I'm not the only one who finds fantastic ways to waste time online...
