Lip Chubby Roundup & Reviews

I'll let you know that these reviews are from my own beauty curiosity.  I purchased each of these products in order to test them out on my own.

My obsession with lip crayons began years ago with a Clinique version called the Chubby Stick.  I loved that little chubby crayon.  And then they did as they do with every product you fall in love with--they discontinued it.

The good news is Clinique brought back the Chubby Stick a few years ago, and now they have more colors than ever.  I love it because it gratifies my non-commital lipstick personality.  Most days, I opt for a sheer balmy lip color instead of a punchy bold lip.  That's just what I feel most comfortable in.

I love the Mega Melon and Heaping Hazelnut colors, but they are all sheer and pretty.

I have broadened my lip crayon obsession to include a few others and I thought I would share with you which ones I like the best.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable

My much-trusted product-junkie friend Chelsea introduced me to this one via her Instagram and I love it!  It gives you a stain with a balm that lasts about half the day on my lips and doesn't dry them out.  The color Honey is a nice pinky nude that would look natural on pretty much anyone.  It's great for my "mom hair don't care" days.

Flower Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby

Drew Barrymore has got it going on with her new makeup line called "Flower" sold exclusively in Walmart, you can buy it here too if you don't want to go to Wally World.  I picked up the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in "Life's a Peach."  It's the perfect pale peach color, it is for sure more of a matte texture, but it's creamy and not dry.  I end up usually swiping a little gloss on top to give it a subtle sheen.

Bobbi Brown Art Stick

This one is definitely more of a lipstick and liner combo for when you're wanting a more pigment on your lips.  Bobbi released 8 vivid shades.  I love that it's easy and quick to apply, no fussing with another lipliner.

Well that's my lip crayon roundup!  If there are other products you want reviewed, leave me a comment and I will be your beauty guinea pig!

A Holiday Gift Guide For Your Bearded Beau

Holiday Gift Guide for bearded and mustache men

We are currently in the midst of my favorite holiday season. Turkey and pumpkin pie are great, but I'm not referring to Thanksgiving nor am I talking about Christmas (I know that we can and should celebrate Christ all year round, but that doesn't mean that I should be forced to listen to such musical atrocities as "Santa Baby" and "Christmas Shoes" before October has ended). I speak not of these holidays, but rather of a whimsical period known as No-Shave November or Novembeard. This is by far the best thing the calendar has to offer.  Okay that's a bit of an exaggeration, but really, when it is done right, facial hair can be pretty awesome and downright impressive.

Whether your significant other enjoys a clean shave, a little bit of stubbly, or a full Grizzly Adams, here is a list of gifts that will be sure to tickle his fancy.

My 1500 Square Pixels of Fame

Have you ever thought that there is more to life than being really, really, really ridiculously good looking? Cue voice dripping in sarcasm.

Remember this boy?  Well, said boy took me to the sunday morning session of General Conference.  He's a real catch.  Behold, our 1500 square pixels of fame:

After our celebrity sighting of Elaine S. Dalton, we too became celebrities. There we were, minding our own business, waiting to get into the conference center when--BAM!--out pops a man with a camera who starts snapping us like we're Lady Gaga. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm used to the paparazzi being all up in my face, but never before have I been featured by such a fine publication as the Ensign. After our photo stalker left we mused about the distant possibility of our photo actually being included in the final issue. When we first saw the photo we were surprised, but then we thought, "No surprises here!" If you need evidence of that just let your eyes wander a little bit to the north (they'll probably do that naturally). This flattering portrait falls on page 100 of the conference issue. It serves as a lovely accent to Elder Kevin S. Hamilton's talk entitled "Continually Holding Fast."

Be sure to "hold fast" by picking up this month's edition of the Ensign.  That way you can feel not only the warmth of the Spirit, but also the warmth of our smiles.

6 Best Budget Beauty Products for Dry Skin

Best Budget Beauty Products for Dry Skin from FrySauceandGrits.com

Fall is here!  Fall is here and I love it!  I can see the leaves in the mountains change already!  Not to be a Debbie Downer, but one thing I don't love about the changing season is the havoc it does to my skin and hair.  Living in the high desert of Utah, it gets EXTREMELY dry during the fall and winter and this is brutal to my skin.  My skin starts feeling dry and tight, my acne starts up, my scalp gets flaky, and I pretty much feel like I'm falling apart!  I've found over the years that when the weather changes, I need to change my beauty regime to combat the dry desert air.
