A Holiday Gift Guide For Your Bearded Beau

Holiday Gift Guide for bearded and mustache men

We are currently in the midst of my favorite holiday season. Turkey and pumpkin pie are great, but I'm not referring to Thanksgiving nor am I talking about Christmas (I know that we can and should celebrate Christ all year round, but that doesn't mean that I should be forced to listen to such musical atrocities as "Santa Baby" and "Christmas Shoes" before October has ended). I speak not of these holidays, but rather of a whimsical period known as No-Shave November or Novembeard. This is by far the best thing the calendar has to offer.  Okay that's a bit of an exaggeration, but really, when it is done right, facial hair can be pretty awesome and downright impressive.

Whether your significant other enjoys a clean shave, a little bit of stubbly, or a full Grizzly Adams, here is a list of gifts that will be sure to tickle his fancy.

For the Fair-weather Bearded Man:

Wahl Trimmer

Wahl 9854-600 Lithium Ion All In One Trimmer will fulfill all of your trimming needs.  Complete with 3 beard guides, an ear/nose/brow detailer, dual foil shaver, T-blade trimmer with 3 guide combs, and a powerful lithium battery, this trimmer will stand the test of time.
The Art of Shaving Kit

The Art of Shaving The 4 Elements of the Perfect Shave Starter Kit includes a pre-shave oil, shaving cream, and an after-shave balm.  These high quality lavender scented products are sure to give optimum shaving results.

For the Baby Face:

C.O Bigelow Premium Shave Cream

The C.O. Bigelow Premium Shave Cream with Eucalyptus Oil 147g/5.2oz  will leave your face feeling cool, refreshed, and conditioned with hints of Eucalyptus.
Phillips Norelco Electric Razor
The Philips Norelco AT810 Powertouch with Aquatec Electric Razor  will give a comfortably close cut for wet or dry shaving.  Its flexing heads will form to the contour of the face, and cut long and short hairs alike.

Burts Bees Aftershave Skin Care

Burt's Bees Natural Skin Care for Men Aftershave is an all natural formula that softens the skin with ingredients like coconut and sunflower, while preventing in-grown hairs, and skin irritation.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin is great for the body and face.  It is a non-greasy, fragrance-free formula that absorbs quickly into the skin.  It not only helps prevent dry skin, but also offers a long-lasting moisturization.  This is a great lotion for Utah's cold/dry winters!

For the Grizzly Adams:

Woodsman Beard Oil

Like an argan oil for the beard, Woodsman Beard Oil will be sure to condition the most wiry of beards.  This oil also contains hints of cedar, sandlewood, and pine needle, leaving his beard smelling of wooded whimsy.
Mason Pearson Beard Comb

From London, England hails this Mason Pearson Detangling Comb.  Mason Pearson has been producing the Mercedes of brushes and combs since the 1860s.  This handmade tortoise comb will glide gently through your beard, and encourage the natural oils of your face and hair to the ends, in return keeping your beard shiny and conditioned.

Safety razors are essential to the manly beard maintenance experience.  This Merkur Model 180 Long Handled Safety Razor is made in Germany.  It features a chrome finish and a long handle (great for big hands) for extreme precision.  This safety razor will last through the years.  And maybe if you're lucky he'll let you borrow it.  It's a great investment for all.

As the seasons come and go, so does No-Shave November.  Surprise your bearded-better-half with something that is functional and practical.

In the meantime, happy shaving!
